Hallowe’en is one of those sugar spikes of the year. It is possible to create healthy vegan Hallowe’en treats, though, by making your own with wholesome ingredients. And it’s getting easier to choose vegan options for kids’ parties or handing out at the door.

It’s not always possible to make your own, and we can’t hand out homemade treats to kids at the door.

Regular Hallowe’en Candy That’s Vegan:

If you take a look at the ingredients, you’ll find some of the regulars that show up in kids’ treat bags is vegan! We’re looking for ones that don’t have gelatin, beeswax, milkfat, or any other animal ingredients.

Some of the ones that were familiar to me were Rockets (in Canada – they’re called Smarties in the US – not to be confused with Canadian Smarties, which are candy-coated milk chocolate similar to M&Ms).

Also Jujyfruits, Cracker Jacks, Twizzlers, Skittles, Atomic Fireballs, Sour Patch Kids, and Swedish Fish.
